A CASE OF NON-HEALING ‘VARICOSE ULCER’
What
is a varicose ulcer?
It is one of the
severe complications of varicose veins. Venous stasis (stagnation) is the
underlying cause of this kind of ulcer.
Treatment offered by allopathic system of medicine
Physiotherapy and bandaging or
surgeries are the only lines of treatment available.
This is a case of 52 years old lady (mother of a surgeon). She was suffering from a non-healing varicose ulcer on the right leg just above the ankles since October 1990.
She came for consultation on 7th
March 1998. Allopathically they had recommended surgery as ulcer was not
healing since 8 years and her suffering was immense. She first developed
‘varicose vein’ during her second pregnancy about 25 years back. Her ulcer
was extremely painful making her sleepless … she couldn’t go to sleep
without taking pain killer tablets. Also she would get sever itching in the area
around the ulcer.
She had developed cervical spondilitis causing numbness of fingers. Due to this would tend to drop things.
Also she was getting pain in left knee, as she would shift her body weight on left leg due to painful varicose ulcer.
Occasionally she suffered from urticaria.
As in every case after
thoroughly understanding her as an individual in her mind and body her
homoeopathic treatment was started.
She started feeling better on all parameters.

Her varicose ulcer started healing (as seen in the above
photograph).
Pain in the ulcer reduced and she could sleep peacefully without taking any painkillers.
She became very active and energetic she was able to do all her daily activities without any trouble.
Her cervical spondilitis improved and numbness of her fingers disappeared.
Her left knee pain and urticaria disappeared.

By August 2000 the non-healing varicose ulcer of 8 years
standing healed completely (as seen in the above photograph) and
she was back to her active, energetic and cheerful self.
