What about my allopathic medicines in which I am dependent since so many years?

As still the general tendency is to ‘try’ out allopathic treatment first for any illness (though the trend is changing in recent years) large numbers of patients are already dependent on those allopathic drugs (whether it is a mental illness like depression, anxiety neurosis or physical ailment like rheumatism) when they decide to go for Homoeopathic treatment. As in spite of heavy dependency on allopathic drugs the suffering is very much there, generally these drugs are not withdrawn suddenly. Gradual reduction of these medicines is done as the patient starts feeling better under Homoeopathic treatment. Also, it is to avoid any sudden ‘rebound’ effect if these suppressive medicines are withdrawn suddenly e.g. if the patient is on anti-hypertensive medication for systemic hypertension of many years standing and still the problem persists then those medicines are gradually reduced while monitoring his blood pressure as it starts coming down.
